Fitness to Practise
The Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists (NSCDN) is responsible for regulating the practice of dietetics in Nova Scotia in the best interest of public health and safety. As part of this mandate, the College investigates and addresses concerns related to professional misconduct, conduct unbecoming, incompetence, incapacity, or violations of the Dietitians Act and Regulations.
One component of this process is the Fitness to Practise program. This approach provides a collaborative and respectful way to address concerns related to a registrant’s possible incapacity, when doing so aligns with the public interest. When the College receives a Fitness to Practise concern, it must decide under the Dietitians Act and Regulations and in line with its duty to protect the public whether the registrant’s possible incapacity should be addressed through the Fitness to Practise process.
If you have a concern about a registrant’s fitness to practice, you can contact the NSCDN at registrar@nscdn.ca.
